THE HISTORY OF 8

As if words could possibly explain our saga–don't say we didn't warn you.

While studying at the University in some basement of a dorm, we came across something rather interesting about the number 8.

Basically...

In the beginning, various groups in India wrote 8 more or less in one stroke as a curve that looks like an uppercase H with the bottom half of the left line and the upper half of the right line removed. At one point this glyph came close to looking like our modern five. With the western Ghubar Arabs, the similarity of the glyph to five was banished by connecting the beginning and the end of stroke together, and it was only a matter of the Europeans rounding the glyph that led to our modern 8.

Within days of discovering this amazing piece to the past, we began noticing things, random things–all having to do with the #8 and we began to wonder what we had unleashed upon ourselves. It has been almost six years and our situation hasn't improved. 8 plagues our lives by making unexpected appearances almost every single day–reminding us that we're not alone. We will always be connected and reminded of each other by Random Acts of 8.
